We only accept travel and lifestyle-related content. If you have an article that you would like to submit, please follow the guidelines below.
Please note that we retain editorial control over any content submitted. By submitting content to us you confirm that you will not submit it to any other website and that all content submitted (text, images, videos etc) belongs to you.
We welcome content from travel bloggers, vloggers and travel industry partners. If your website or company is not linked to the backpacking industry (Australia, New Zealand, Thailand), then it’s unlikely your submission will be accepted.
How to Get Started as a Writer
Submit your article idea through the form below.
- To avoid wasting your time, we ask for a 150-word summary of what you plan to write about.
- If your idea is approved, we will then ask you to complete the article within an agreed deadline.
- Please note, idea approval doesn’t automatically result in a published piece on the website.
- Due to the number of submissions we receive, we can only contact successful applicants. If you haven’t heard from us within two weeks, please assume that your submission has not been accepted this time.
- Too many ideas to choose from? You can submit up to three proposals; just be sure to fill out separate forms for each new idea.
What Type of Articles Are We Looking for?
If you want to write for us, please familiarise yourself with our website. Your article is much more likely to get published if you understand what we do and who our audience is.
Travel Guides:
We always want to add new travel guides to our website, particularly to destinations that are less-visited and off the beaten track. If you want to tell the world why we should visit your favourite hidden gem, or perhaps your hometown, we’ll help you spread the word.
Additionally, if you see a travel guide on the site that you could improve or expand, let us know how.
Itineraries:
Help other travellers plan the perfect route around a country, city or region. Aim to save readers money, fuel and time whilst showing them places they might have missed out on otherwise.
How-tos:
Did you solve a problem that many solo travelers struggle with? Can you write the guide that was impossible to find online? Be the change you want to see in the solo travel world!
Activity Guides:
Did you climb the most challenging mountain in X? Canyon the most ferocious river in Y? Dive among the submarine wrecks in Z? Tell others how to prepare themselves for this life-changing adventure. They’ll need to know when to do it, how to do it and why to do it.
Top tip: Your article is more likely to get published if it is something that is useful and informative to other backpackers and helps them to get the most out of their travels rather than a personal diary entry. While your mum may want to hear every detail of what you ate in the airport in Quito, it might not make such a scintillating story for others.
